     355It is a lot of work to implement and maintain support for an additional protocol. Since Pidgin developers have just limited time, they can only support a limited number of protocols. If you are willing and able to implement and maintain a protocol that you're using, you're welcome to do so.

     357There are plugins for NateOn, Skype and LCS, but these are unmaintained, i. e. some persons wrote these plugins and went away. The Skype plugin requires the official client to run at the same time.
